Henry meets Esmerelda and falls in love. Her father, however, has other plans for Henry saying he can only marry his daughter if he gets three feathers from the back of the all-knowing Dragon Sorcerer. The Dragon Sorcerer, however, likes to eat people like Henry!
This is an Austrian variant of story types 461 and 930. The Grimms version is called “The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs.”
This album, Second-hand tales is no longer available as a CD; currently it is only available as a digital MP3 download. This first album, remains one of Simon’s most popular and contains a couple of signature stories. It was recorded by Kristina Stykos at Pepperbox Studios, off the grid in Vermont, USA.
