Simon Brooks is a storyteller who has entranced audiences for over 10 years. He has performed in the UK, and in the USA where he has resided since 1994. His tales, both live and his award winning recordings, combine the intensity of solo performance with the intimacy of face-to-face conversations, delighting all. Find Simon here.
Sean Kramer is an artist and teacher. He has a studio in Portsmouth’s Button Factory. He studied medieval painting techniques with some Russian painters. He teaches courses in the liberal and fine arts, including a course on fairy tales.
Joanne Piazzi is a resident of Rochester. She is a veteran teacher, seamstress, and storyteller. Joanne has been telling stories since before she knew there was any such thing. Once she knew what she was doing, she stopped going to Confession for it, and started making money at it (Well, just a little bit). Her stories are often amalgams of folk tales, real life, music, humor and something sticky to hold them all together. She tells for children and adult audiences alike, often simultaneously! Joanne is the producer of the monthly "Right Between the Ears" series in Rochester, NH.
Pat Spalding, from Rye, NH, is a monologist/majorette who spins tales and twirls a baton (although not simultaneously). She is emcee of True Tales Live, a monthly program of live storytelling recorded at PPMtv, and a majorette with the Leftist Marching Band. Pat has written and performed several one-woman shows including: We Stayed Together For the Puppets, A Bomb In the Closet, and Dancing With Dad. For the last four years she has focused on listening to, learning from, and encouraging the stories of others. You can find her here or follow her on Facebook – just don’t spell her last name with a “u.”
Genevieve Aichele is the founding artistic director of New Hampshire Theatre Project in Portsmouth, and has performed, directed and taught theatre arts both nationally and internationally for 40 years. As a storyteller, Genevieve has performed with musician Randy Armstrong for the past 20 years in World Tales. Their two CD’s have won numerous national and international awards. Genevieve has recorded numerous podcasts, and her first audiobook recording, Forest Secrets by Tracy Kane, was released in 2012. Ocean Secrets, for which Genevieve is also the co-writer, was released in May 2014. Awards include the 2001 New Hampshire Governors Award for Excellence in Arts in Education; 2008 NH Youth Theatre Award; 2002 Outstanding Achievement in American Theatre from the New England Theatre Conference, and 2015 Special Spotlight Award for Excellence in Theatre for her direction of I Am My Own Wife.
