Vermont Fairy Tale Festival

The Sherburne Memorial Library is proud to bring the very first Vermont Fairy Tale Festival to Killington in the fall of 2017.

Saturday, September 23, 2017   10-4pm
The event will take place rain or shine.

Sherburne Memorial Library, River Road, Killington VT

The event is similar to a Renaissance Faire, but in this case each booth will be a different fairy tale.  Kids and families can visit each tale, learn the story and make something to take home.

Admission to the event is a non-perishable item for the food bank or an item for the humane society. Killington -Pico Rotary and Killington Fire and Rescue will be food vending for part of the day.  We’ll have craft vendors, Viking fighters, and two artists in residence to help participants create flower fairies.  We also have to amazing storytellers, Simon Brooks, and the wonderful Norah Dooley, scheduled to be here performing throughout the day.  Gifford Woods State Park will be hosting some fairy houses the day of the festival that will adorn one of their more popular hiking trails.

Craft vendors will be onsite selling fairy-tale-like items and Medieval fighters from all around the region will be here for various demonstrations.  We encourage the public to wear your best fairy tale costume and we’ll have a variety of costumed characters available for photo opportunities. Each participant receives a bag at the gate with a program book and passport that will help you visit each of the fairy tales and make something to take home. Bring your whole family and come spend a few hours or enjoy the whole day! There is no price for admission, though we are asking that you bring a non-perishable food item for the local food bank or an item for the Humane Society. This event is sponsored by the Sherburne Friends of the Library.
