The first of two events featuring British humourist, author and storyteller Simon Brooks, this on-line workshop is presented by the well-known storytelling organization Northlands.

Northlands has been a place where storytelling has been nurtured and celebrated, and a number of respected storytellers have been asked to present a final series of workshops and performances.

Simon Brooks will be sharing his vast knowledge of producing and being feaured in on-line events. Virtual events are not going away, and provide additional ways to reach audience members from any region of the world. “Breaking the Boundaries of the Box: streaming best practices” will be a 90 minute s workshop on how to make yourself look and sound the best you can on what can be a challenging medium, and offer user-firendly platforms other than Zoom to present on and look polished. This will be somewhat hands-on (as much as a virtual workshop can be), and be open to Q & A.

Participating in Simon’s information-packed workshops is not only informative, but fun. Some folks have said they have learned more in 90 minutes from Simon than in three-hour workshops presented by others. You don’t have to spend big bucks on looking good. You just need to know what works, and how to use it. From audio, to setting up the laptop for optimum performance experience, to lighting, this hour and a half will go by quickly and inspire you!
