British storyteller, Simon Brooks, has won awards for his five storytelling albums, including a Gold Award from Parents’ Choice for his recording of The Epic of Gilgamesh. His book published by Parkhurst Brothers called Under the Oaken Bough, is popular with families, schools and libraries. A collection of 17 folk and fairy tales retold in Simon’s irreverent way includes a section with tips on telling, a vocab list (because he kept the bigger words in), suggested reading, and an author Q&A!
Simon travels across the States telling at festivals and conferences and for private events, including corporate get togethers. He is a popular teller and often invited back to share his ever-growing repertoire of tales. He has performed both in-person and virtually at the Jonesborough National Storytelling Festival, and Timpanogos, at the Florida Storytelling Festival, Athens Alabama Storytelling Festival, Snake River Storytelling Festival and many other engagements. He has performed and taught at schools from Los Angeles, California to New London, New Hampshire where he resides.
