You can make a difference. Supporting the Children’s Literacy Foundation can make a huge difference to the children of New Hampshire and Vermont. CLiF has provided free and inspiring literacy programs and brand-new books to low-income, at-risk, and rural children up to age 12 in almost 85% of the communities in New Hampshire and Vermont.

Who CLiF Serves

CLiF’s fun, interactive literacy programs benefit children from many backgrounds, all of whom are at risk of growing up with low literacy skills:

  • Children from low-income families

  • Children in shelters

  • Children in low-income housing

  • Children of prison inmates

  • Refugee children

  • Migrant children

  • Rural children

Feedback

Every week we receive feedback about our events and ongoing programs. Local program coordinators, librarians, and teachers tell us that after many CLiF events they see:

  • An increase in the number of children who sign up for their first library card

  • Children’s book circulation rises at school and public libraries

  • More children start to read books for pleasure

  • More children write for pleasure and for school projects

  • Librarians, teachers, and parents report that that children are more enthusiastic about reading, writing, books, and stories
