The League
for the Advancement of New England Storytelling -
National
Storytelling Network ().
The major national storytelling membership organization, based
in Jonesborough TN
is one of my favourite tellers as he tells so deeply from the
heart. All of his stories have kept me riveted and I have been
enriched by his telling.
One of the
greatest organizations I support is not life saving, but it is
soul saving and promotes literacy for children. ,
the is set up to GIVE books to kids who live in
rural areas where they might not have access to books. They give
books to rural libraries who face great difficulties in todays
economy. The provide author and artist visits to schools and libraries,
and work in prisons bringing families closer through literature
and hopefully breaking negative cycles in the lives of both the
inmates and their children. Go and have a look at their
to see all the wonderful work they do.
My great
friend, Steve Glazer, who used to run the Valley Quest Program
in White River Junction, VT went solo and now runs an amazing

is close to my heart as it is part of the letterboxing
culture that got me back into art by cutting
rubber stamps. I now hide these stamps for people to find
and take an impression of (not to remove the stamp)!
,
the man who got me into Allaire and pushed my HTML skills and
who let me jam on his songs when Josh was writing new material
needs to be under the friends heading. I do not know him personally,
but... Dan plays with a fantastic band, putting on a great live
show. And just when you realize that you cannot live without the
wonderful upbeat music you can go and buy his CD's too! You do
not need to be a kid to listen to Dan Zanes, far from it (I find
myself listening to his CD's in the car when I am on my own) but
you might want to take a kid or two to the shows! Not only is
the music great but the culture that surrounds him, his ambiance,
his grace, is a pleasure. A human being who glows beauty from
the inside
