New Festival in New Hampshire's White Mountains

White Mountain Storytelling Festival, NH

Fancy a weekend away? How about a trip to Northern New Hampshire in the White Mountains? The White Mountain Storytelling Festival will take place from Friday 30th September to the 2nd October. It will be held in Waterville Valley, NH which is located in between and a little south of Conway and Lincoln, and is easily accessible from I-93. And with all this weather there is some GREAT NEWS: If it is raining, the festival we will be held inside and if it is dry and sunny, there are venues both indoors and out in the fresh mountain air.

Waterville Valley is providing plenty of story space for plenty of renowned storytellers. The weekend begins with Ghost Stories on Friday night at the Towne Square gazebo 7:30pm and continues all day Saturday beginning at 10 am. There is also a chili cook-off to warm you up if the mountain air gets too, er chilly! All of this is capped off Saturday evening with a fantastic performance by Michael Parent. But it does not end there as Sunday morning will feature sacred stories for those who wish to stay.

Stories will take place in three venues for Adults, Families and Kids. A total of 16 tellers will be performing, with the featured teller being Michael Parent. There is something for everyone.

Michael Parent was a featured teller at the first Timpanagoes Storytelling Festival in Utah. He is going to bring the White Mountain Storytelling Festival a fabulous performance that will be talked about for years as the featured teller here. Other tellers include: Neil Billings, Peter Brodeur. Simon Brooks, Cora Ciampi, Andy Davis, Nancy Donnelly, Anne-Marie Forer, Kim Hart, Cindy Killavey, Angela Klingler, Olga Morrill, Ruth Niven, Lauretta Phillips, Joanne Piazzi, George Radcliffe, Take Two = Anne-Marie Forer & Cindy Killavey and Sharon Wood. Phew! Now that is a list of tellers!

Please plan on joining us on Sept 30th for ghost stories, October 1st for a day long festival and October 2nd for sacred stories to start you on your safe journey home.

Admission to all storytelling events will be $20.00 per person (family rates available). Admission to the evening storytelling only on Saturday is $10 per person. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a special charity. (*Chili Challenge Cost separate.)
